(Technical stuffs:) Last night I bought this cute little pancake lens for my Sony NEX-3. The lens kit I got was a quite long 18-55mm and it’s definitely not pocketable. Now, I can put the NEX-3 + 16mm F/2.8 lens inside one of my jeans’ front pocket. Yeah, it is really quite small for an APS-C sensored camera (the same sensor size like those used in Nikon D7000, Canon 7D, Pentax K-5, etc). Cool, huh?
This morning, I did a lot of tests on the lens, the sharpness in every Stops, the dynamic range, the distorsion, the vignetting, etc (for my own personal review). That’s exactly what I do everytime I bought a new lens. I just want to get the most out of what my lenses can deliver to me. I think it’s crucial to understand the characters of each of your lenses before you actually go out for a serious photo shoot.
(Shooting part:) In the noon, I went out to the old market in the city of Tangerang, and I took some pictures around there. I’m quite satisfied with the performance of the Sony E 16mm F/2.8 lens (probably because I did a review of the lens earlier in the day, before I went out in the noon). Haha!
The second picture with a guy texting on his Blackberry, there wasn’t enough space for me to squat down to get the shot. Since I was attaching a wide lens, I decided to shoot by resting the NEX-3 to one of my thighs. I think I got a quite decent shot, don’t I?
Happy weekend to all of you. Cheers!
