Thanks for watching. Cheers!
For the last 2 weekends, I had been shooting with my Sony A900. It had been kept untouched in the dry box for quite some time. I’m still greatly in love with this full frame camera. Yes, I know what you’re thinking right now, that I’m always in love with any cameras, right? I’ll have to admit that is so true. I just can’t help it, I love cameras. Maybe each camera is special in their own way. LOL
The feel when looking through the super bright and huge optical viewfinder, the solid feel when holding the body of the camera, the sound of the shutter and mirror flipping, the great colours it produces, the fine grains in the images when using ISO higher than 800, the long hour working battery life, no worries when shooting under heavy rains, etc. The Sony A900 is a great full frame camera. It has a special place in my heart. It’s just priceless.
Of course, when we are talking about the new Sony A99, it is much superior in terms of the AF, ISO and image quality. One thing that I really noticed and amazed when testing the Sony A99, is that when you use it with any Minolta AF lenses, the images are much sharper with more details, compared to the Sony A900/A850. And, if you never noticed, the colours produced by the Minolta lenses (in any Sony full frame cameras) are so much alike the colours of Carl Zeiss lenses.
I personally do not like the colours of the Sony lenses. I by much prefer the Sony Carl Zeiss and the Minolta lenses. Being said that this is a good news to Minolta lenses lovers. Buy a Sony A99 and shoot with Minolta (or Carl Zeiss) lenses, guys! The Sony guys are going to kill me if they read this. LOL
Nevertheless, I still love and enjoy using the old Sony A900 full frame camera. And, I think I will keep the Sony A900. It’s the first Sony full frame camera, it has a historical value, Â just like the Sony A100 which is the first Sony DSLR. Right?
