Pentax MX-1

An afternoon walk around the old quarter of Tangerang city, with my old Pentax MX-1 professional digital pocket camera.

These are all SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) JPEG files.

The photo above was taken on July 06th, 2020. The Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is soaring high. But none of the people in this area was wearing a mask nor a face shield. And most of the teenagers here were all looking down on their mobile phone all of the time, busy living in their digital lives.

Laupasat, The Place of A Million Pictures

Laupasat, as I name the oldest quarter of Tangerang city, is one of my most favourite spot for picture taking. Morning here was always filled with the hustle and bustle of people.

This place never stop to amaze me. A million frames is just never enough.

Laupasat Tangerang 2019

Laupasat in Tangerang is one of my favourite spot for photo hunting. The crowd, the dark alleys, the ancient chinese temple, and so on, all of them gathered in one place, which makes them perfectly photogenic. I think, almost at least once a month I went there to take pictures.

The best time to enjoy the crowd is on Sundays and on the 1st/15th day of the lunar calender, as there will be a lot of people praying in the chinese temple.

Nepal, The Land of The Living Goddess 2017 [Sony A7R + FE 35mm f/2.8 + A 70-400mm] – Part 3

Everyday in Nepal was always a new day for me. There were always new things unfolding in front of my eyes.

Even when I was having my coffee, my cameras were always clicking, snapping beautiful shots after shots. It’s almost like a heaven for the photographers. A never ending beautiful dream. Until you boarded the plane back to where you belonged.

Nepal, The Land of The Living Goddess 2017 [Leica M + 28mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M] – Part 2

In Nepal, the beauty in the chaotic order in the charm for my eyes. Everything just looked so unique and beautiful.

The longer I stayed in Nepal, the more torture my cameras endured, as the shutter never stop clicking 24/7.

The local food is also fantastic! I’m totally addicted. The only complain I had is the dusty roads in Kathmandu. I had to wear a mask all day long.

Nepal, The Land of The Living Goddess 2017 [Leica M + 28mm f/2.8 Elmarit-M] – Part 1

Nepal is known as the land of Himalayas, the land of Everest, the land of the living goddess Kumari, the land birth of Buddha, and so on.

For me personally, Nepal is the land of warm people, beautiful colours, exotic cultures, and super photogenic country. Everywhere I looked is always something to be captured by my camera.

Too bad Buddha didn’t have a camera back then, He would have tons of great pictures of His country.

ISO 6,400 [Leica M + Voigtlander 35mm f/1.2 II]

This morning (March 08th, 2020) I somehow messed up the ISO setting in my Leica M typ.240. It was set to ISO 6,400 and I didn’t realised about it, until the point where I was almost done shooting! OMG!

But, somehow the images came out beautifully. They’re super grainy, and they have the film look. I love them! This gave me the idea to shoot with high ISO the next time I’m out for photo taking again.

You might want to take a look at the pictures for yourself.
